Espanyol of the 'short ones' equals a combative Huesca

Barely a month has passed since Huesca celebrated its championship in the Second Division and promotion to the First Division and Espanyol cried the worst season in history. But the emotions have been renewed as in school courses. Pericos and Huesca had a balanced pre-season debut in Sant Adrià (1-1). The sun went down and the revolutions rose between a competitive Huesca and a Espanyol commanded by three short ones, Melamed, Embarba and Melendo, the best in a match already played at a fast pace to have just ten days of training.

Vicente Moreno did not want to waste time, who made up a rejuvenated team. And Espanyol began dominant. Aggressive in pressure every time he lost possession, he recovered several balls and deployed in attack with the verticality of Embarba and Melamed, who played hooked on the lime. The midfield was a valley of comings and goings in which Pol Lozano and Melendo stood out above a shy Huesca in the beginning. Quite the opposite of Dídac, who always plays at full throttle, it doesn't matter in summer or winter.

To the side, impatient and roadrunner, the sun that hit Sant Adrià bothered him. “You can't see a damn thing,” he protested. But, like a wolf in this case, he chased an impossible ball and from that momentum was born the 1-0. That impossible ball was sent by Calero and picked up by the clever Melamed inside the area, who served Melendo to send the ball into the net with a low and crossed shot. His left hand was a pool stick.

Rafa Mir woke up Huesca

Espanyol continued in their line, but the one who woke up was Huesca. He stepped forward and found the giant Rafa Mir, who sent two shots out. The changes in direction by Pulido and the blue and white inaccuracies at the start allowed the Huesca team to roam Diego López's goal. A corner kick was finished off by Pulido. The meeting was balanced.

With Mosquera on the pitch, Huesca was calmer after the break. Galán struck by the side of Víctor Gómez, very demanded throughout the match. Espanyol lost mordant, sleepy at the beginning of the second half. But with the entry of David López in midfield he regained vigor. Embarba had 2-1, a result that the Blue and Whites deserved. First, with a foul that was repelled by goalkeeper Gasca and then a poisoned center to the far post that Campuzano hit the crossbar with hardly any angle.

Those of Vicente Moreno beat the blows in a good letter of introduction, as it was also for a Huesca that showed that it is still a tough team to crack. Both projects are in the making and the rosters will change in the weeks that remain, but the teams were already very competitive. Great news especially for Espanyol, who had lost that quality in their DNA at the end of last year.
