Eleven Second B clubs demand greater financial control from the Federation

Eleven Second Division B clubs have said enough in the face of a frequent problem in the category and they have decided to join together to sign a letter to the Royal Spanish Football Federation demanding a solution. For them, there is a “competitive disadvantage“at the time when several clubs carry out” economic malpractices. “In the bronze division, what has now been exposed has been denounced for years, in order to balance the competition. However, economic control, at least for the signatories, does not guarantee compliance with legality.

In short, what they come to report Unionistas, Badajoz, Numancia, Rayo Majadahonda, Cultural Leonesa, DUX Internacional de Madrid, Racing de Ferrol, Ibiza, San Fernando, UCAM Murcia and Zamora They are the tricks of clubs that pay part of their salaries in black to their players, which allows them to manage salary limits and avoid paying taxes without any consequence on them. Of course, this is an illegal practice which, in addition, distorts, according to the plaintiffs, the competition.

Therefore, they demand that the economic control carried out by the Royal Spanish Football Federation be hardened and severely punished those who are caught exercising these practices. “The RFEF should ensure equality between all clubs and economic control to avoid problems experienced in the past“, says the statement, which adds:” That there are clubs that do not comply with the rules also damages the image of the Federation itself. “

In recent weeks, in the Second Division B bubble, various comments have emerged that question how clubs that have had to resort to an ERTE for their survival are now capable of making renowned signings. In other words, the eleven implicated in this attachment to the Rubiales team address the issue: “An action model must be planned and more in the context of the situation that all clubs are going through the economic crisis and loss of resources as a result of COVID-19 “.

Finally, they request the support of the AFE union, making a note of modes of action in the past: “It has to prevent its players from receiving part of their salaries in an irregular way and not to defend, as has happened, the contracts that their players receive before the Mixed Commission“. The ball is now on the roof of the RFEF and the AFE itself, after receiving a formal request by letter that worries and affects not only these eleven, but the entire category.

This is the full statement:

“LETTER TO THE ROYAL SPANISH FEDERATION OF FOOTBALL

Given the competitive disadvantage in which we find ourselves, due to the bad economic practices carried out by some teams in the category, and in our duty to fight for a fair and clean sport, the undersigned clubs wish to state the following:

1. Our absolute rejection of the breach of the rules of economic rigor by which all Second Division B clubs should be governed. Said non-observance by some teams causes a comparative offense towards those who do, for which it should be punished.

2. We consider an act of unfair competition the practices that certain clubs develop with the hiring of some footballers. Agreements with payments that do not fully comply with the legislation and amounts of money that are received unofficially.

3. The clubs that comply with the payment of all contracts on a regular basis, as well as the amounts to be received by personal income tax and Social Security, feel disadvantaged and disadvantaged when competing with those teams that do not. The rules are marked for everyone equally and it is everyone's duty to comply with them.

4. In our opinion, the competition would be corrupted from its inception by not starting all participating clubs under the same conditions.

5. That there are clubs that do not comply with the rules also damages the image of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, which should ensure equality between all clubs and economic control to avoid problems experienced in the past and take care of the health of our football.

For all these reasons, we ask the Royal Spanish Football Federation for a response to this situation, wanting to know, before the competition begins, what measures it is going to carry out to have greater economic control of the Second Division B clubs and the corresponding sanctions so that we can all compete in the same conditions, without prejudice to the fact that the clubs can make the decisions we deem appropriate.

The federative entity has to have a model of action planned for those who do not play fair in a section as important for the proper functioning of our football as the economic one. And more in the context of the situation that all clubs are going through due to the economic crisis and the loss of resources as a result of COVID-19.

On the other hand, the Association of Spanish Footballers, to which we sent the same letter, cannot protect this situation with its lack of action. AFE has to prevent its players from receiving part of their salaries in an irregular way and not defend, as has happened, the contracts that their players receive before the Mixed Commission, since the legislation is not being complied with and the players themselves could be seen harmed by it.
