David Valero and Sandra Pastor win the Classic MTB Valdemorillo that honored the Olympic medalists

The runner David Valero, bronze at the Tokyo 2020 Games, and Sandra Pastor prevailed in the Classic MTB Valdemorillo-Community of Madrid, in which 500 cyclists participated and the Olympic medalists Marga Fullana, José Antonio Hermida, Carlos Coloma were honored and Valero himself.

For the first time, the four Spanish Olympic mountain bike medalists met: Marga Fullana, bronze in Sydney 2000; José Antonio Hermida, silver in Athens 2004, Carlos Coloma, bronze in Rio 2016, and David Valero, bronze in Tokyo 2020. The BH Coloma Team cyclist Natalia Fischer, double XCM European champion, also participated.

Starting in the Madrid municipality of Valdemorillo, the Clásica had two modalities, Pro and Popular, 58 kilometers long and more than 1,200 meters of unevenness.

In the Pro test, David Valero took the victory ahead of Pau Marza (Gobik Factory Team) and the Argentine Catriel Soto, Valero’s teammate in the BH Coloma Team. Meanwhile, in the women’s event, the fastest was Sandra Pastor (Invicta Salud), who surpassed María del Pilar Fernández (Flyz Rothar Racing Team) and Belinda González (Scott – Cycling Training).
