MADRID, 6 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish driver Dani Sordo will continue with the Hyundai in the World Rally Championship for the 2024 season, after the confirmation this Wednesday of the team, with the return of the Norwegian Andreas Mikkelsen.
Sordo will share the team's third car with Mikkelsen and Esapekka Lappi in the next World Championship. Mikkelsen previously competed for Hyundai between 2017 to 2019, but has since focused his efforts on the WRC2 category, taking titles in 2021 and 2023 both with Skoda.
For Sordo it is his eleventh season with the team. “Thanks to their slightly different specialties and enormous experience, the combination of Esapekka, Dani and Andreas will give us the opportunity to field the best team at each event to fight alongside Thierry Neuville and Ott Tänak,” said team principal Cyril Abiteboul.
While Mikkelsen, Sordo and Lappi will alternate in one of the cars, Thierry Neuville and Ott Tänak will carry out full programs of the 13 tests, as confirmed in October.
