Crisis in the south of Madrid

It is not being a simple season in the south of the Community of Madrid. All of their professional teams see the abyss very closely. Getafe marches at the bottom of the First Division with a single victory and three draws in thirteen games played, while Fuenlabrada (19th), Leganés (20th) and Alcorcón (22nd) occupy, accompanied by Amorebieta, the relegation places in Second.

The reasons for this ‘present black’ are very diverse and range from poor planning of the squad (the four teams made at least two signings on the last day of the market) to the inability to assume their new reality, that of fighting not to be relegated.

Nevertheless, the lack of forcefulness in the areas is the main symptom of this endemic crisis. The Coliseum Alfonso Pérez are the team with the lowest score in LaLiga with only six goals and, together with Mallorca and Cádiz, occupy the third ranking of goals received with 19, surpassed only by Valencia (20) and by a Levante (25) who have the same points as the azulones, six.

In the silver category, the issue gets worse. Fuenlabrada is the one that has pierced the rival goal the fewest times with only 12 goals followed, of course, by Alcorcón with 13. Defensive data doesn’t invite optimism either: the potters are the most thrashed with 33 and those of Torres, although they do not have those black figures, they have conceded 10 goals in the last five duels. The defensive strength so typical of the Kirikos has already been forgotten. Leganés, meanwhile, adds 15 in favor and 19 against. Some data that places him in a no man’s land statistically speaking, but fixes his bad league start.

And as always happens in times of football crisis, all eyes have been directed to the benches, where the changes have taken place. Getafe dismissed Míchel, who assumed the difficult role of replacing Bordalás in the summer, and signed Quique Sánchez Flores, that adds a victory, two draws and two defeats. The Leganés, for its part, welcomed Nafti after saying goodbye to Garitano. With the Tunisian, the pepineros still do not know defeat (one win and two draws). Finally, Alcorcón is already marching for its third coach, Fran Fernández, after Anquela (one win and five losses) and Jorge Romero (one game won, another tied and five lost). The current potter coach has returned to resurrect a sunken team and temper the spirits between fans and managers. However, the coach has only been able to score one point in the three games with him at the helm.

Only Fuenlabrada keeps Oltra at the controls. However, the Valencian could have a final in the duel against Mirandés. The numbers from Fuenlabrada are the worst at this time of the season since their arrival in professional football: in the 2019-20 campaign they had 28 points and in 2020-21, 23.
