Covid hits Valencia with an outbreak at the beginning of the holidays

Valencia has suffered these days, at the start of the first team's holidays, largest covid-19 outbreak of the season with at least four positives among its members diagnosed in the days after the conclusion of the competition last Saturday.

The first affected was the U21 international Portuguese Thierry Correia, which was detected in the control that the Portuguese federation subjected him to before joining the concentration for the final phase of the European of the category, which will be lost due to contagion.

His positive put Valencia on alert who relayed the news to his companions and asked those who were still in the city to undergo a PCR in the sports city of Paterna and those who had already left to do so wherever they were.

The club has not reported the result of these tests but it has been reported by various federations that had summoned Valencia players.

In the case of Maxi Gómez was the Uruguayan forward himself who announced on social networks that he had tested positive before taking the flight to his country. After his came the confirmations from the Portuguese federation by Gonçalo Guedes and from the Netherlands for Jasper Cillessen.

All of them will now have to quarantine themselves and undergo further tests before resuming their work with their selections or the social activity of their holidays.
