Rules and conditions of the draw
32 teams will be involved in the draw for the round of 32, with only 16 being able to go to the round. This time there will be no exempted. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Athletic and Real Sociedad, qualified for the Super Cup and as a prize it was not necessary for them to play the first two rounds, they will be in the draw cups. These four teams will be paired with the lower category teams. Sixteenth format
The sixteenth of the Cup will take place on the weekend of January 16 and 17 and on January 20 and 21 of the same month. The tie will continue to be a single match and there will be no back and forth. There are two dates for a reason. On January 17, the final of the Spanish Super Cup is disputed, in which Madrid, Barcelona, Real Sociedad and Athletic participate, which makes it impossible for them to play their Cup matches that day and therefore the date of 20 and has been enabled. 21 to play. Of the 116 who were qualified for this tournament, only 32 remain and the four participants of the Super Cup will enter the KO tournament for the first time: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Athletic and Real Sociedad. What happens if you can't play because of COVID?
Faced with the threat of the pandemic, the Federation has added in its competition bases what to do and how to act in case COVID prevents playing a game to try to ensure the completion of the tournament. In order for the competition to be suspended, it should be the case that one or more heats were not played (not counting the final) before June 30, when the end of the 20-21 season is set. In that case the title would be void.
