MADRID, 28 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish badminton player Carolina Marín has qualified for the final of the Indonesian Masters, in the BWF World Tour Super 500 category, after beating Chinese Yue Han in the semifinals this Saturday (21-15, 21-14).

The woman from Huelva, current number nine in the world ranking, will meet in the final, the first of the year for her, with the winner of the other semifinal match, which is played by the Chinese Zhi Yi Wan, seventh in the world ranking, and the South Korean An Young, number two in the world

In the duel played this Saturday in Jakarta, the two contestants arrived tied at the middle of the first set (9-9), before a rush from the three-time world champion and six-time European champion tipped the balance by taking 10 of the last 13 games.

Already in the second round, Han started with a 3-0 lead that allowed him to reach half the set ahead (10-8), but Marín reacted and commanded in the final stretch to close the match with a 4-0 run and a +7 after 41 minutes of play.

In this way, the Spanish achieves her first final of the year after falling in the quarterfinals of both the Malaysian Open and the Indian Open. “We are already in the final! I am very happy with today’s match, with how I have fought each of the points,” she acknowledged after the match.

“It has been an important game for me, playing here in Indonesia, in this stadium, is always incredible, like all the support behind me and that makes me feel at home. I want to thank all the Spaniards for their continuous support. Tomorrow we go for that final!”, he concluded.
