The Bavaria de Munich surprised the Lyon olympic by beating him by the minimum (1-0) in Munich in a match of the fourth day of the Champions League with a goal from the Japanese Saki Kumagai. Despite the deserved defeat, Sonia Bompastor’s team maintains the leadership of the group. A final shot by Delphine Cascarino that brushed the post and a monstrous mess in front of the Bavarian goal at the end of the game in extra time, did not achieve that the Lyonnais achieved at least the equalizer.

After the attempts of Hegerberg (44 ‘) or Morroni (45’ + 6) it was a former Lyon, Saki Kumagai, who played a trick on her former teammates. Unhappy with her first leg, the Japanese international was this time the player of the match. He scored the only goal by heading in from a corner taken by Carolin Simon. This defeat – the first for the French all season – does not fundamentally change the position of the French club in the standings, as they retain first place in their qualifying group with a reduced lead, however, over Bayern. A draw would have been enough to secure Lyon’s qualification two rounds from the end.
