Bautista ends season with elbow injury

Tennis player Roberto Bautista, current number 13 in the ATP ranking, ends this season as a result of an injury to his right elbow.

The one from Castellón He has been dragging discomfort in his elbow for several days, pain that made him cancel the second appointment in Cologne a couple of weeks ago. The intention of the tennis player and his team was to recover, during this time, to participate next week in the last Masters 1,000 of the season in Paris-Bercy, as well as in the ATP in Sofia.

Unfortunately, Bautista Agut has not reached the expected recovery point during these weeks and continued to present discomfort in training. Together with his team, he has decided to end this season and bet on a good recovery with the goal already set in the next 2021 tournaments.

The final of the ATP Cup with the Spanish team last January, before the suspension of the ATP calendar for six months by Covid-19; and the semifinal at the Cincinnati Masters 1,000, once the official competition resumed in August, they were the player's best results this year. From now on, Roberto Bautista Agut will work to return to compete at his highest level in 2021.
