Barça closes a perfect phase and Levante qualifies for the next round

MADRID, 29 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Barça closed the ‘main round’ of the Champions League this Friday with a full of triumphs by beating Zalgiris by a forceful 1-7 that leaves the Catalans as absolute leaders of their group, while Levante drew against Viten Orsha (1-1) to certify his classification to the elite round of the highest continental competition.

The Catalans signed a perfect first round after passing over Zalgiris in a match that – curiously – began losing and had to overcome the initial goal of the locals. André Coelho, at 9 minutes, left the Lithuanian goal in an anecdote.

Two minutes later, Barça took the lead with a goal from captain Sergio Lozano (1-2, min. 11) and only two minutes later, Velasco’s men culminated their great reaction with the third, also by Lozano, after a good combination with Pito (1-3, min. 13). With this scoreboard the break was reached and it was in the second half that the Catalans’ party was completed.

Matheus carried the Blaugrana victory even more with 1-4 and only three minutes later Lozano signed his hat-trick (1-5) with six minutes to go. Ortiz and again Matheus finished Barça’s win on the third day of this main round of the ‘Champions’.

For their part, Levante drew thanks to a goal from Gallo against the Belarusians from Viten Orsha (1-1). The point was enough for the granotas, who enter the next round as second in the group in what has been their debut in the top competition of the ‘Old Continent’.

The 16 clubs qualified for the elite round will compete in four groups of four, which will be drawn on November 3. The first four of the group, which will be played from November 30 to December 5, will advance to the final phase, whose qualifiers will be held on April 28 or 29 and April 30 or May 1, UEFA reported.
