FC Barcelona and Real Madrid will meet this Monday from 1:00 p.m. on their rivals in the group stage of the Women’s Champions League, in a draw that will be held at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon (Switzerland) and that will determine the fate of the 16 participating teams.

The blaugranes, finalists last season, will be part of Pot 1, made up of the champion, the French Olympique de Lyon, and which should be part of the three national champions of the best-ranked federations on the access list: France, Germany and England.

As the reigning champions (Lyon) are also champions of one of the top three federations, the group is completed by the champion of the federation placed fourth on the access list, Spain, allowing Barça to join the French , Wolfsburg and Chelsea.

The other pots are made up according to the clubs’ coefficient ranking established at the beginning of the season. Real Madrid, who eliminated Rosenborg in the last qualifying round to slip into the group stage for the second consecutive year, is part of Pot 3.

Four groups of four teams will be formed, and clubs from the same federation may not be in the same group. The matches will be played between October 19 and December 22, with the top two teams in each group advancing to the quarterfinals.
