Arthur meets with Abidal, but the file continues its course

Finally, Arthur Melo managed to meet this morning with Éric Abidal, the club's technical secretary. The first meeting attempt was on Saturday coinciding with the Barcelona and Naples match, but the club did not allow the player to access their facilities. Arthur had not passed the official UEFA PCR test (he had passed it in a private laboratory on his own) and was not on the list of people who could access the facility.

The meeting between the player and the club's top sports executive will not change the Brazilian's situation too much, that he refused to go back to training with his teammates once his vacation ended, for which he was filed by the entity.

In the face-to-face meeting, the player explained to Abidal the reasons why he did not show up for training, which basically boils down to the fact that Setién was not going to make him play.

The club insists that his attitude was a very serious offense and it does not seem that his situation will change. You will remain away from the team while the file continues its course.

In the afternoon, the technical secretary plans to meet with coach Quique Setién to give an account of the conversation of approximately one hour that he had with the footballer. Setién is contrary in principle to the footballer rejoining. For him, the issue is closed now and does not have the Brazilian who was transferred to Juventus for 72 million euros more variables at the same time that the Barcelona club signed the Italian club midfielder Pjanic for 60 million.
