Mikel Arteta, the new winner of the English FA Cup with Arsenal, spoke about the future of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and assured that he wants to assemble a team around him.

“He knows what I think of him. I want to build a team around him. I think he wants to stay and that we are about to reach an agreement on his renewal”, said the Spanish on the British channel BBC.

“I think these moments will help him realize that we are on the right track and that he is an important part of it. He is appreciated by everyone here. I hope you can stay “Arteta added.

Aubameyang has been Arsenal's hero in this FA Cup, with two goals against Manchester City in the semifinals and two more goals in the final against Chelsea.

Regarding the match, Arteta stated that despite fitting in quickly, he knew that his players would not give up and that they made some of the best football minutes since he arrived at the club.

“I am very proud to represent these players and this club. It is a double reward for us. It is very important for us to be in Europe. We did it, so I am happy”Arteta pointed out.
