Ancelotti: “People have begun to understand what they have to do at the stadium”

MADRID, 27 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, celebrated his team’s reaction this Saturday to turn (1-2) the duel against Sevilla at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, without getting carried away on the penultimate day of a League that has improved last week with measures against racism and insults.

“Rodrygo has stood out in this game because he has scored both goals. In the first 10 minutes we were not well placed, but the team has played well again and has shown confidence. We have played a serious game,” he said at a press conference , about the author of the two winning goals.

“Rodrygo has done well as a center forward and he can also play there. He has different characteristics. If you dribble through the center there are more chances of scoring than if you dribble from the outside. With his quality it’s easier for him to look for opportunities in this area. He doesn’t have physical for aerial duels, but he has quality”, he added about the leader before the casualties of Benzema and Vinícius.

Ancelotti was asked about the atmosphere in Pizjuán, under a magnifying glass the fans in the middle of the war against racism in LaLiga, the RFEF and the CSD. “It’s difficult to find motivation in these types of matches. We’ve tried, but now we can rest for a few days to prepare for the next match,” he said.

“The atmosphere in the stadium has been good despite some whistles for Ceballos. I have not heard any insults and we are on the right track. We must congratulate the fans. They support their team and have done very well. They whistled for our players, but it is something normal. Hopefully this type of atmosphere can be repeated because it is good for football”, he explained.

“This week something has happened, the atmosphere has changed and today has been a good sign. People have begun to understand what they have to do in the stadium and what not. We have to continue like this. Regarding Vinicius, now he will have two days off and see if he can play the last game”, he insisted.

On the other hand, Ancelotti was asked about the news about the departure of Marco Asensio this summer. “I don’t know anything about Asensio, just as I don’t know anything about Nacho either. Before the last game everything will be clear. On a personal level it makes me sad that they are leaving because they are very important. After the decision they make, we will prepare for the next season” , he claimed.
