Amaia Erbina: “At the level of rivals, it has never been so affordable to go to the Olympic Games”

MADRID, 1 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The player of the Spanish Rugby 7 team Amaia Erbina considers “‘affordable'” that the team qualifies for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, since many of its direct rivals such as France or Ireland have already qualified, so it will depend on themselves to qualify directly in the next European.

“There are many possibilities. At the level of rivals it has never been so ‘affordable’ and without Russia because of the war, without France for being the host and without Ireland because of their classification in the World Series, we have as very tough rivals Great Britain, Belgium or Poland, but the chances of going to the Olympic Games are many,” Erbina said in statements provided this Thursday by the Spanish Rugby Federation (FER).

Spain will fight to qualify for the Games in the next European Championship to be held in Krakow (Poland) from June 25 to 27, which distributes a direct place for the Paris event and two for the playoffs. “It will depend a lot on us, that’s the good thing. If we do a good job there will be many possibilities,” he commented.
