Garzón and Ruiz have been married since August 2017. They said “yes, I want” in the municipality of Cenicero (La Rioja), where the politician spent much of his childhood. They then enjoyed their honeymoon in New Zealand.
They met in 2012 during a conference in Ronda, Malaga, her hometown. Since then they have barely parted. Ruiz, after graduating in Medicine at the University of Seville, moved to Madrid to work as a doctor at Hospital La Princesa.
