Agenda of Felipe VI and Letizia in Oviedo: flamenco night with Carmen Linares and María Pagés

Flamenco show night for the King and Queen on the eve of the Princess of Asturias Awards ceremony. The cantaora Carmen Linares and the bailaora María Pagés, distinguished in the 2022 arts category, will share the stage on the occasion of the 30th edition of the concert that bears the name of the awards. The appointment is on Thursday, October 27 at the Principe Felipe Auditorium (in Oviedo), under the presidency of the King and Queen.

25 years after their last performance together, Carmen Linares and María Pagés take the stage under the title Carmen and Maria. Two paths and one look. It will be at the event organized by the Princess of Asturias Foundation in collaboration with the Cajastur Foundation. Both artists will interpret various subgenres of flamenco, such as bulerías, fandangos or tangos, and will integrate popular songs and poems by Juan Ramón Jiménez, Miguel Hernández, Federico García Lorca, Rafael Alberti and Jaime Gil de Biedma, according to the foundation.

Everything points to the Infanta Sofía accompanying the Kings to this event. It remains to be confirmed that Princess Eleanor will bring forward her fall vacation at UWC Atlantic College one day, which marks the beginning of the break on October 28, and arrive on time to attend the concert.

It should be remembered that last June, the royal family attended the flamenco show De Scheherazade, by Pagés, at the Canal Theaters in Madrid.
