A tennis player from the ATP Challenger of Todi, positive for coronavirus

The ATP has communicated that there has been a positive case of COVID-19 in the challenger of Todi (Italy), and that it is being investigated thoroughly to find out if the player has contacted more people.

The name of the tennis player has not been revealed, although local media point out that he is a doubles player. The ATP says in its statement that he is asymptomatic and that new tests will be carried out this morning.

The tennis player is in isolation, and “local medical authorities have been contacted” says the ATP note.

Participants in the Internazionali di Tennis Citta di Todi 2020 (Perugia), a challenger category tournament, among others, the Italian Marco Cecchinato (16th in the world), the Austrian Jurij Rodionov, the Australian Alexei Popyrin, and the Spanish Roberto Carballés and Carlos Alcaraz.
