Official: the elections to the presidency of Barça, on March 7

The Barcelona partner already has a new official date to go to the polls in order to choose the new president: March 7. The club, through the Management Board, has made the change of date official -the elections were set for January 24-, with the novelty of the introduction of the vote by mail. In addition, the club has announced that the electoral headquarters outside Catalonia -Madrid, Seville, Valencia and Palma de Mallorca- are canceled, leaving only that of Andorra. The argument to discard these venues is that the restrictions due to the pandemic do not guarantee in any case the possibility of the act in person, so with the approval of the vote by mail, any member who wants to participate can do so through this modality.

In any case, the decentralization in Catalonia of electoral headquarters is maintained for March 7. Thus, Barcelona will have a total of 111 tables, distributed between the Camp Nou and the Palau Blaugrana, Lleida will have two tables, Girona, five, Tarragona, three, and Tortosa, one. In Andorra, the only venue outside Catalonia, a table will be set up.

Members who want to vote by mail will have to communicate it between January 29 and February 9, both those who go to the Post Office in person and those who make their right to vote from home. The communication will be made electronically through a form that the club will post on the web on Friday 29th. Between February 15 and 26, the members that the club has given the approval to use the vote by mail, may go to the corresponding Post Office to cast your vote.

Apart from 65-year-old members, those who cannot travel due to health reasons will also have the possibility to vote without leaving home, making the pertinent request to the club.

The electoral campaign of the three presidential candidates will end on March 5, and the 6th will be the day of reflection before the vote. On March 7, the member who attends the polls in person may do so between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. without interruption.

The club also made official the total census of voting members -110,522-, of which 40,347 are over 60 years old. 93% of the partners live in Catalonia, 4% in the rest of the State and 3% abroad.
