0-2: Elche exploits the mistakes of a brave Alavés

Alavés anchors in the lower part of the table after conceding a painful defeat, the second in Mendizorrotza this season, against Elche. AND
The Gasteiztarra team was brave and aggressive, but paid dearly for its lack of success against the goal and its defensive errors before a lethal adversary to the against.

In a very entertaining first half with alternatives, the Gasteiz team got stuck at the start before an opponent who traced their 1-3-5-2 on the pitch. The Elche team closed the passing lanes very well and initially sought to surprise the Gasteiztarras with long balls behind the rear looking for Pere Milla. Thus, in minute 14, the referee annulled a goal to the striker for offside.

The albiazul team was not daunted, with Pere Pons very active and Jota Peleteiro seeking prominence in a very daring proposal of Pablo Machín. Too bad his team lacked precision in the pass.

The babazorros insisted mainly on the right and, in the 19th, Edgar Badía saved his team with a great save from a superb header by Joselu after Edgar Méndez's center.

Very clear to Ely

In the 27th, in a play that was born from a set-piece action, the Italian-Brazilian scored the clearest chance until the break when, from the left, Jota Peleteiro sent him a good cross and, only in the area, crossed too much his headbutt.

From there, Alavés advanced their pressure and began to steal balls in a dangerous area. Too bad he lacked precision in the pass. However, it was Elche who went ahead to rest.

In 39, Edgar Badía surprised with a long serve when the Gasteiztarras were about to press up. Fidel assisted Tete Morente, who, after a good feint, assisted Pere Milla, who scored the 0-1 with a hard shot that slipped between Pacheco's legs.

Denied before the goal

In the second half, the Albiazul team went to 1-4-4-2 and were very aggressive while their strength lasted, but they were not successful in the goal.

For his part, Elche knew how to tickle him and did a lot of damage to the counterattack. In 54, Pacheco, who yesterday did not have his day, responded with a good save to a shot from Tete Morente.

The game was a give and take and, in 64, a good combination in the area between Joselu and Lucas ended in a corner after a dangerous shot from Coruña.

The babazorros, very stressed by the 0-1, made massive defensive errors, such as a bad exit from the Pacheco area or an incomprehensible failure in the clearance of Ely. After this last action in '74, Pere Milla crashed the leather against the wood.

In 81st, Joselu was able to draw, but with everything in his favor to score he sent a good pass from Ximo Navarro high. With the Gasteiztarras overturned, a new defensive error condemned them. In 86, a loss by Ximo Navarro led to the 0-2 play established by Tete Morente.

The Albiazules did not surrender and they were able to cut distances in 90, but Edgar Badía, one of the best, showed off with a good save in a one-on-one match against Borja Sáinz.
